Thank you all! :) I don't publish my work, and am a little intimidated by some of the talent on Deviant!! :D Plus, the artists mostly have a personal style, I don't, I use most media and just see where the brush/pencil takes me when I am in the mood. I think I enjoy pencil portraits the most. The first one below I did for a friend, the other is an abandoned self-portrait I should get around to finishing one day...maybe lol! It needs a lot of reworking, but it is only now I see where it went wrong (the angle of the nose, and the neck is too thin) oh, and I have always hated my hair, hated even more drawing it! . I am self taught and only draw/paint as a hobby - most of what I manage to complete is for other people so don't have many pieces. Before I started training as a child therapist, I considered training in art therapy but then worried that making a hobby into work might steal the quiet pleasure I get out of it.

Excellent.
Start every day off with a smile and get it over with.

Really nice work, Soraya! :) I find smiles that show teeth terribly hard to draw.
Oh and I totally agree about not wanting to turn drawing into a job. Much more pleasurable if you aren't forced to do it :)
Keep up the good work and share some more!
