Yep, Nihi is right with this one. It has always been ranged who has got resin.

About the resin
It indeed isn't in any of the strats or fight descriptions however the only time we get puddles in melee is when there is a ranged there. At least thats what my observations tells me. Also as a melee I have never been on the receiving end of the debuff.
Can't we check it in the logs who gets it?
