Quickie:

*brings out the big gestures like a true Italian plumber*

-1T on Tortos (Snapping Bite dmg spikes!), 1T on bats (keep T health > 350K)
-Big aoe heals after Quake Stomp (unavoidable)
-Avoid falling rocks (blue circles on floor)
-Mdps and tank bats close to Tortos
-Play football!

Kick-e the turrrrtle!-mechanic
  • Assign 1 Rdps to play football
  • Rdps on little turtles till they stop spinning, avoid their spins
  • Face towards Tortos
  • Wait for Tortos' FURIOUS STONE BREATH
  • Kick and ... GOOOAAAL!

For our designated wing player:

TURTLE KICK MACRO:
/targetexact Whirl Turtle
/click ExtraActionButton1
/targetlasttarget

This will allow you to kick turtles without having to target them first.

(from Tankspot)

Also: if you have a spare turtle, kick it at the bats, they'll get a 25% dmg increase which will help getting them down quicker.

Sounds like a cakewalk... Which tank has the highest HP vs which has the higher Dmg mitigation? Really unsure who is optimal for the Bats? A tank with higher HP and hence bigger gap to 350k mark or one with better defends abilities and stats to mitigate?

Not a cakewalk. Will assemble thoughts and feedback.

Loved the raid, very happy it went ahead. Very nice leading, and great to see 28 tries. It is all practice. I would prefer to go 6H and one more ranged dps. Lots of interesting H things to think about. Learned a lot, very enjoyable evening.
Start every day off with a smile and get it over with.

Thanks Erin, I'm still trying to get the balance right. Previous raids with me maybe felt too slow, this felt better. Nicer t to have the quick wipes, but great to get reassembled and a fresh try running quickly. Vrug was very responsive to making pulls on the readychecks too which helped.

So, last night:
- Cengo, Biz, Vitki, and Arslan all had a chance to kick the turtle
- Vrug and Alae both tried Bt tanking and Turtle Tanking
- Adjoint as Main Assist marking Turtle kill targets
- Erian on heal lead calling saves
- Tan on Boss CD calling 'Stomp'

Although not called for from a strat perspective we had Vrug and Alae tank swap just before the first bats, this gave Vrug a vengeance buff to hit moar DPS on that first pack. Worked well but can't be repeated through fight on a rotation.

Cengo and Biz using miss-direct on Bats to help Vrug/Alae pick them up.

The pull is the hardest part of this fight, Tortos is building up ability stacks from the start and has around 60 by time Turtles arrive, that leaves maybe 15-20 secs to get the first turtle down and interrupt Tortos's aoe ability.

Started with no Hero with intention of using after the first turtle hit Tortos. Changed for second half to use after first Stomp, reason being we needed to push the DPS on the first turtle, it overlapped with the DPS on Tortos for Melee, propbably 10 secs of so with RDPS getting turtle down and remainder for MDPS to go nuts on Totos. Might be something tat can be negated by extra RDPS, but last night it ws tough.

Probably too many people getting hit by the rocks falling. Nte that more rocks fall for 5secs after stomp.

RNG can hurt, rocks can land n Melee, Turtles can spin into Melee, generally chaos ensues.

Was perusing teh kitteh forums to see if they had any tips, found an interesting one. Melee switch sides after Stomps to easily negate most falling rock damage and keep deepsing, while we currently have to scoot away from boss, sometimes running out of melee range.

We definitely need more planning there. It was fun last night when after first set of rocks falling neatly on purple marker, people ran out in literally every direction, rocks started falling everywhere and you either had to be lucky or stop dpsing to avoid damage :)

I was usually moving along the face of the boss during that and coming back to purple once the worst was over. Seemed to work ok.
